Re: problems with synths after 30 years of non use?

Alright, I think I made up my mind. all the answers here have been helpful, thanks! I´m gonna stay with what I had in mind anyway to spend on it. The chance of an odd surprise is always there with old stuff no matter how its been treated. In the end the only way to have guarantee is to buy from a sh...

Re: problems with synths after 30 years of non use?

Yeah thats the kind of info I expected. We haven't settled on a price yet. The seller seems to want over `market value`because it hardly has been used. Cosmetically he´s right (though to me that isn't so important) but technically it doesn't seem to be an advantage. Kind of what I thought. He has tu...

problems with synths after 30 years of non use?

This has probably been covered but I couldn't find a topic tackling my question. I´m looking into buying a vintage synth and I´m in contact with someone selling a synth (Korg ms20) and it apparently hasn't been used for 30 years. It looks pretty new. But I´ve read not using electronics for longer pe...

Mabey check with Buchla before you do that! Im not 100% sure but I believe the early 218's needed a resistor change before an update is possible.

Re: Sheesh....

I’ve noticed used Ciat-Lonbarde synths selling on Reverb for significantly more than they would cost new from Peter B. Just when I think there’s no way someone would pay that much, they are gone. I´ve had this wierd thing happen: I listed something by C-L at 75% of the retail price here in Europe. ...

By the way Gringostar,

Where in the chain do you have it? I usually had the delay in the end of the chain (fully dry) sounded lovely and really pulled the sound together

Re: Boss OC-2 question

I´ve measured it with my oscilloscope when running the sh-101 into it so I would have a steady amplitude input. also transposing the VCO of the 101 up made sure the oct2 would be in the same range as oct1 before so in my logic that eliminates the chance that the oscilloscope reacted diffrently only ...

Re: Boss OC-2 question

Hi, Its not only a precieved diffrence its also a measured diffrence. The amplitude of osc 2 at full volume is lower than of osc 1. This might be a well thought out feature to save speakers, but I´m not sure. I just wanted to know if this is normal behaviour or not. The source has been guitar as wel...

Boss OC-2 question

Hi There, I got a boss OC-2 (made in Japan Version FWIW) and the sound of oct 2 is way lower in volume as the the oct 1. I´m finding nothing online that confirms or denies that this is normal behaviour. surely someone here har experience with one of these and can tell me if there is a big diffrence ...

Re: Pros/cons THIS setup vs Buchla Music Easel

That eurorack setup can make all the sounds the easel can- with likely a slightly different flavour- and beyond... Though seeing the easel as a sound source is missing the point of its design I think. If the sound of a CO into an LPG is what youre after buy a CO and LPG of taste and modulare how you...

Re: Moog Minifoogers (New Moog pedals on the way)

I really love the delay a lot. But only for the drive, I can really pass on the delays itself. The MF drive sounds very different. Dies anyone know of a Pedal that sounds similar to the drive in the MF delay? It makes everything I Send thru it sound better, not different... better! Ive yet to find s...

Re: Classic filters as pedal / Overview

Dont analogue solutions do a SEM filter Pedal? Elta music does a Polivoks filter pedal The Minifooger drive has an awesome ladder filter Thats off the top of my head. If I tjink of more Ill come back. Getting a small skiff like the 4ms pod and some in/out module on your board would be the most flexi...

Re: Will I kill an F-1 if I use the output as input and the input as output?

Sh-101==>reverse F-1===>guitar amp.

It was mightily unstable. Really fun rythmic stuff to be had. It was also extremely flexible with the volume knob controlling the stability. If its safe Ill only use it this way

Re: Imitating TX series feedback loops

Yeah I just tried to confirm your thinking. If I´m right the TM-7 has thee tubes one for the input level and two others for subsequential gain and distortion. My guess would be the feedback loop is at the second tube. the lower the first gain knob is set the less the passing sound interferes with th...

Re: Imitating TX series feedback loops

I don´t know if this helps but: with the TM-7 the feedback (Teabagmode) sounds diffrent than putting the entire pedal in a feedback loop. so the only thing I can tell you is in the TM-7 its not the input thats connected to the output. Which is great because putting it in a feedback loop will add jus...
