Is there some easy way to turn illustrator layers into a gerber zip? seems kinda annoying using pcb software to basically layout vector art and cutting/hole lines. I typically use the import DXF function in KiCAD to get my panel art into the program, then line up mounting holes with the outlines on...

The tube in that circuit isn't doing anything special whatsoever. You can probably just switch it directly over to 12 volts without much (if any) change in overall sound. It looks like the diodes in the heater circuit are being used as a crude voltage regulator. Just straight up swapping that entire...

DIY Metasonix drone
Hi all, I just recorded a drone with my DIY PT-2 as the main sound source, and I thought some of you might enjoy hearing what it sounds like: [soundcloud url="https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/324376948" params="auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&...

FPE actually has a really awesome knob scale generator plugin they've made available: https://www.frontpanelexpress.com/downloads/scripts/ It's a little clunky but works great, and once you've gotten a few scales you like, you can just copy and paste them between FPD projects and never have to use t...

Hi all, I have submitted a panel design and a board design to PCBway. The board has past the inspection within an hour. But the panel design, I have been waiting for more than a day now. What is going on? :hmm: Since the panel doesn't require any copper, so I submit a gerber with a copper top layer...

I used Project-PCB when I did the Living Memory VCOs run. Not the cheapest for small quantities, but far better quality than ITEAD or the like. They also have a matte black option which is absolutely goddamn gorgeous.

With some adjustments and a trimmer I was able to get roughly 3 octaves of 1/v oct tracking out of the circuit as is. I wasn't testing for drift though and it was in a case where the temp around the expo convertors probably wasn't changing much. But it was much more stable than I expected. Oh nice!...

If your looking at the bad photocopy version of the 158A schematic then the saw to tri converter is the section between C4 and the base of Q14. Thanks! Turns out I was just having some level shift issues, and now that I've gotten that fixed it works great! The REALLY interesting part of the 158 "A"...

I somehow never saw this line of tube modules when poring over the CGS lineup, thanks for bringing it to my atttention! Looks great, please post some demos if you have time - I'd love to hear it. Thank you, and you're welcome! I'm planning on putting up some demos as soon as I get this thing set ba...

Buchla crashed Spice :hihi: Heh, yeah, darn thing spent all night yesterday trying to crash, and finally got around to it. :hihi: Don used what I'm told is a cusp cancellation circuit in the sine shapers of the 158, all three 258 versions, the 208, and 259. He used an Idss selected 2N4339 in all of...

Buchla 158 core spice simulation
Hi all, Over the last few days I've been messing around with a 158 VCO core that I set up in LTSpice, and I thought someone here might be interested in it. https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix2/11964_158_core_1.jpg It's based off this schematic from Peake 's site, but using modern transistors a...

Finally able to post something of mine in the 2017 thread! This is a clone of the Metasonix PT-2 that I've been working on for the past few weeks: https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix2/11964_tube_station_1.jpg It's based on schematics from the CGS site, and constructed with about an e...
