Re: Harvestman setups

Yeah. Sounds really different than any of my lowpass gates. But it sounds different than a VCA. But not so many users use this Slew for Amplitude. Can change trig into envelopes too. You can use the Slew Section of the King Slender as a VCA Not so many users knows that :yay: 1601639081014318...

16016390810143183280287062433158.jpg Couldn't decide between my shared system or IME, so I combined my favorites. I did the same for a while, but the orange has quickly replaced almost all the Make Noise. I still have my LxD in there. I even sold my Maths (never thought I would) once I got my pair ...

Very nice, would you mind sharing some of the patch notes regarding the tetrax as a controller? Been curious if a tetrax or sidrax would work for me to compliment my euro case.

Re: Make Noise Rene - 4 step sequence

I think rather than a gate output, he’s got the top row output of PP patched to the Y-CV jack on Rene, so he has dialed in the four different Rene rows with the top row of PP. That let’s him select through them like a remote control. I don’t see anything patched to the YCLK jack. You’re exactly rig...

This one? [bbvideo] [bbvideo]

Unless I'm mistaken, pp row 4 gate out to y clock in with Maths clocking the x axis. Rene in Cartesian mode. It looks simple, am I missing something?

Re: Rene V2, Playability & the Evolution of Make Noise

Going to read through that lines thread now. Thanks for the link. I for one am too intimidated by the apparent complexity of Rene v2 and morpheme to make the jump. Coupled with the fact that I still really like my phonogene and Rene 1, I don't feel the need to "upgrade". I also get the impression th...

Re: Modular for the visually impaired

Welcome, Ian! I think I would recommend going slowly and using a relatively small subset of modules that don't require screens/modes of any kind. I would personally avoid designs that have a field of undifferentiated jacks like the Neutron or the Mother 32 etc (even though they're cool synths, they...

Re: How long do you stay patched?

I have really found my personal preference to be creating "performance" patches that require input and interaction, hence the touch based controllers in my main case. I also find it very rewarding to deeply explore the patch, slowly developing and tweaking it. It never really changes dramatically, ...

Re: How long do you stay patched?

I know this has been discussed a number of times, but it’s always interesting to read different approaches. I’ve also been leaving my patches running for months at a time, just remembering which settings to adjust when powering up. I have really found my personal preference to be creating "performan...

Re: Something new from Make Noise coming?

To add my own guess: maybe some kind of mixer/sequencer/keyframer touch controller? I'm thinking something like the Keith McMillen KMix but in a modular format and perhaps supporting states like Rene and Tempi. That would be badass. Touch controlled matrix mixing would be interesting. I like using ...

Re: Something new from Make Noise coming?

I would be very interested in a stand alone touch controller. Never had too much trouble with pp, but i have clammy hands. I think a 0-coast sized controller that's euro compatible has been a no brainier since they first released the 0c. Surprised it didn't come out sooner in a mini easel arrangement.

Re: IF YOU WERE TO START YOUR JOURNEY AGAIN

If I were starting again, I’d buy everything second hand, especially "outdated" deals. I also know now that I don’t jive with menu/button combo based interfaces, and generally prefer tactile patching and interactive surfaces. (That said, disting and ornament_crime are incredible value and work for m...

Re: Torn apart between Erica Synths Black Sytem II and Make Noise Shared System (eurorack noobie)

You can put together a Makenoise system based on used modules for about a third less if you go with the mk1 Rene and non black planel mn modules. I would recommend adding a qpas and a brains for the pp as well. If it's gonna be stationary, you can get a bigger case with the money saved, which you w...

I have an OG SS and think MI Ears was one of the better additions. More mixing, a couple VCAs and cv sources have got my rack to a point I’m really enjoying. I like The Harvestman designs in general, so adding some has felt natural to me. I’ve had Brains since day 1, and I’m just now thinking of tak...

Double Andore MkI cv'd by pressure points, currently. Nice to set up different envelope shapes or times per stage. I usually create playable and interactive patches.

Shout out to Kermit, I pair mine with a-134-2 for mad cross mod cross modding. :omg:

I just patched this up and it seems to work for me. Bottom row of PP (0-5v) to Y-CV in with its attenuator full CW. Selected snake mode in settings. Set PP knobs and change between states to select different patterns. Will look at it closer to see if it does respond differently to the same voltages ...

I've been meaning to try recording my wanderings and using Renoise or some iOS apps to "compose" a more structured piece. But, I'm also happy to just let them wander into the ether.

Thanks for the topic, I'm interested. Be well.
