Re: ISLA Instruments SP-2400

Yeah if I had an SP1200 in really good condition I don't know that this purchase would be for me at all. You have it sans the extra sampling. The only way it would be worth it is if it 1. Nails it 2.You need a back up or want something more portable.

Re: What new booty did you buy?

Well I had no intension of doing it, but I did. I'd been going round and round about the 1010 blackbox, MPC Live, Live 2 and One and then this popped up in my feed. So I bought it.

Re: What new booty did you buy?

I've never seen pickups like that. Are they bridging over the strings? How do they differ from regular pickups? It's just a cover, pickup is in the normal position. Voltcontrol is right, if you look at old pictures of P and Jazz basses many of them have the ashtray cover set over the pickups and th...

Re: What new booty did you buy?

Well that sucks :( Nice colour tho? Hopefully it'll come right in the end I'm thinking of making a 'partscaster' but I'm a bit nervous .. It's worth trying once. Like I said mine came out to about $1200 because I didn't skimp on anything. I got everything I wanted, the extended neck, rosewood, medi...

Re: What new booty did you buy?

Okay this project was so unfun I will never build a bass again. Seriously the body had to go back 3x because of issues and I had to sand the cavity to be large enough for the pickups because it was cut pretty tight. And I chipped the nitro paint trying to remove a screw I stripped. It was a bargain ...

Re: What new booty did you buy?

Funny I have an MJT P alder body showing up today. I have an extended warmoth rosewood neck with hipshots ready to go and lollar pickups. I have the electronics wired. I will just need to do the drilling which is a bit dicey through the nitro finish and I have to put some copper shielding inside the...

At the same time, if they re making a prophet 600, they ll probably use this as a template for the P5 later, at least they share the same VCO chips..
One can only hope. I thought the P6 would quell my desire for the P5 but it has not.

Re: Behringer: practices, ethics, morals and legitimacy.

Hmmmm. Well... good question. I guess in some cases, releasing a new version of a piece that's no longer on the marked is OK... Releasing a copy of a product on the marked is not.... This has been my general take as well. I don't know if Behringer knew that Moog was going to re-release the Mini D w...

Re: Korg Arp 2600 1:1 grey version confirmed by JMJ

Just an FYI even if Korg were to do another run the chances of getting in on that are probably slim to none. They have a list 400 people deep at Sweetwater for the opportunity to get one. Sweetwater has been trying to talk them into making more because they are missing out on a financial opportunity...

Re: Korg arp 2600 mini?

I'm actually quite annoyed about this whole thing really. The FS was just too big for me and as I was going back and forth on it, it sold out. Obviously they didn't make enough to meet demand and if I had known there'd be 1. no smaller version and 2. Not enough of the large version I would have just...

Re: Korg arp 2600 mini?

I'd be happy to see a mini version- without a keyboard. I already have two synths with good keyboards, and haven't got room for any more keys. Plus, the mini version would probably be closer to what I can justify, if not afford. This is the one time I actually wanted a smaller version than the orig...

great thanks!

ETA: The EU to US plug adapter works fine however I'm being sent a proper PSU for the US from Myvolts so that should fix that.

Re: Behringer Pro-One

Okay so I ordered a power supply from my volts since the one thomann shipped was with the EU attachment only. Except this doesn't work, the unit is not powering up. What else can I use? I don't have a step down plug for EU to US power. I know computer controlled ordered from the EU to the US what ar...

Looks like we have a price of £3200 I’m assuming that will translate to $3200 US. I’m wondering if that includes a nice case and keyboard? I guess we’ll fine out on Friday.

Re: Behringer Pro-One

Thanks I just ordered a new Behringer US version. I actually quite hate these and wish they just used the 3 prong PSU. In fact I'm about to order 15 3 prong extension cords to get these wall warts out of my powerstrips. They are part of satan.

So I cancelled my order from sweetwater and bought this from thomann however the power supply it ships with is useless here in the states. Is there a different one that is safe to use?

Re: Korg Arp 2600 1:1 grey version confirmed by JMJ

You know it's funny but this is the one unit I didn't want a 1:1 size remake. I actually was hoping they'd do the 86% of the regular size to save some space. However I'm not gonna bitch about it, I'm just really super excited it's finally happening as I had given up and was thinking I'd have to go b...

Wait! What, you're in the USA and you got yours already!!?? I'm on the preorder list for Sweetwater and nothing has come up yet. You're much better off buying from Thomann. Cheaper and you'll get it faster. Thanks I did just that. Cancelled my Sweetwater order. Hopefully it will be here in a couple...

I don't think it can do it all but it certainly shares DNA. Todd Terje did Inspector Norse on the 2600 here is the Odyssey pretty much nailing it.

I guessing this will be around $2000, I'm hoping I'm wrong but given the FS odyssey it seems reasonable. I wonder if a keyboard will also be part of the package?

That's interesting because I can get them to sound a like within a certain frequency range and then it's all bets are off, once the resonance noise and filter and pushed they don't sound alike to me. In fact the noise and resonance sound totally different to me. I did this demo for Rico Loverde bec...
