Re: Favorite Smoothed Random

Qu-bit Chance has a nice smooth random. Can be blended with the discrete (stepped) random, has attenuverter on all random outputs. Freeze and manual coin toss features. Also has wavetable random, white and digital noise, burst and rhythmic gates.

Re: New 12hp Sequencer Now Shipping: COPPER TRACES Seek

I'm looking for a SEEK but can't find it anywhere (and import from USA is difficult because of import duties etc). Does anyone have a clue where to find this module or a similar sequencer module? thanks! http://thesynthesizernetwork.shop.textalk.se/modular-a100/copper-traces-seek-step-sequencer wig...

Re: Semi-weighted keyboard synth also as controller?

I've had a Kawai K5000s since 1999 and it's gonna be buried with me when I die Another +1 on that. Only negative I’ve got is that aftertouch requires fairly high pressure and could be more linear or gradual. Otherwise wonderful controller in every way. Will add that the 16 knobs transmit midi cc da...

Re: Noise, S&H and Quantizers are missing from my rack.

Just a random thought.... could you create some kind of white noise in a DAW and record it as a sample? I would think that some VST's would have some kind of noise you could generate and record... If you just want noise to load into a sampler, you could get it from a site like this, with white, pin...

Which apparently sold out quickly-showing as pre-order status now.

There's also this thread I started 7 years ago (so some posts mention older rather than latest modules), ran for 11 pages:

I certainly do, though I hadn’t seen that version of the cover. Knew it instantly when I read the hint-a longtime favorite. My copy was signed by the guitarist back in the 70s. Which means I’m not a young punk, so will declare myself ineligible and let someone else have a shot at it.

Nah, just figured some folks out there haven’t heard it, thought they should have the experience with their own ear flaps. On a late night semi drunken posting spree for some reason after a weird day.

Re: three songs

Under the Milky Way is one of my absolute favorite songs from the 80s. Loved it from first time seeing the video on MTV, and started collecting Church albums on CD, was only dimly aware of them previously. Priest=Aura is one of their best IMO. Fun fact-the “bagpipe” solo on Milky Way was a Jazzmaste...

So you need to suck instead of blow and vice versa when playing these harmonicas?

Re: Looking for YOUR advice and thoughts on a Eurorack build!

Tip: good tool to locate modules you’re interested in is the site wigglehunt.com
I did a quick search on it for “twin waves” and found several new and used in the US and UK-don’t know where you’re located, but some dealers offer international shipping.

Re: old movie soundtracks and synthesizers

Two of my favorite Tangerine Dream albums are soundtracks. Thief (1981) was written and directed by Michael Mann (his debut). Sorcerer (1977) was essentially a remake of "The Wages of Fear" directed by William Friedkin (very different, but interesting and well done, just not a classic like the origi...

Been a big fan of The Gabe since Nursery Cryme and was fortunate to see him in Dallas on the first tour. The venue was small and in a theater style setting with proper seating and a stage. I Got in free by one of the sound guys who was an old Showco road crew member from the Lamb Lies Down tour. Th...

FWIW, the Detroit Mod site now says “for mid July delivery”, but would suggest calling them late next week to see if they have received any updated info from Dreadbox. Doubt retailers know exact date they will arrive yet.

Sweetwater has the preorder page up now for anyone who is interested.
Detroit Modular also taking preorders, and think they allow using the 10% off 4th of July discount on preorders. Have not tried it to confirm.

Re: Drone - Live Looper

Chase Bliss Blooper is a really wild, fun, powerful looper pedal. Deep set of features but easy to use once you play around with it for awhile, manual is good, also tons of videos on YouTube demonstrating all the possibilities. Not exactly cheap though at $500, and too new for used ones to show up o...

Re: Doepfer Monster Base Case Wrist Damage

Raise your chair or get a taller one so arms are higher than level with the case. Put a computer wrist rest pad (foam or gel) in front of it-probably need a board or something to raise it above height of base case. Don’t work on the modular for long periods without a break to listen and think about ...

Re: Recommend your weirdest craziest FX machine ever

I'll ask here instead of starting a new thread.. There was a video on youtube, I think it was an against the clock or maybe it was just a live set breakdown, and the performer had a multi-fx box that *i think* was boring computer grey, and it had a breakout box controller. Anyways, seemed like inte...

Re: 3U 104HP Cases?

It’s discontinued, but you might be able to locate the “thick” version of a 4ms Modular Row case. 104 hp, came in powered and unpowered versions. Threaded rails, not sliding nuts.
Fits modules up to 3 in/ 89mm deep. I found one on Reverb last year.
