If it says it can't find the file, that indicates that the USB drive format is OK but the firmware file is either not on the drive, or not named correctly.
Can you post a screenshot of your drive contents?

Re: ES-9 / ES-5 / ESX-8MD help needed
If all you need is another stereo pair, could you leverage the S/PDIF outputs somehow? E.g. buy a little DAC.

Re: Disting EX - SD Multisample octave offset and single voice problem
If you have one CV/gate pair connected, you have control over 1 voice.
If you want to hold chords, connect more CV/gate pairs or use MIDI.

You probably need to increase the Gate Offset.JamesBondsai wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 11:17 amAnother interesting thing occured. When playing C on one octave, and switching one or two octaves, when I play C again, the first hit sounds like some sort of banjo, and the second time as a piano again![]()

Re: Disting EX - SD Multisample octave offset and single voice problem
The defaults for unipolar or bipolar mappings generally make sense, but you won't be using mappings anyway if you're just aiming to trigger voices from a keyboard.
I meant "use the octave parameter or use the transpose parameter".How should I transpose parameters?

Re: Disting EX - SD Multisample octave offset and single voice problem
The disting assumes 0V is MIDI note 48 (C3 or C4 depending who you ask). Should be about 130Hz.
If you want to transpose it, use the octave or transpose parameters.

You can't adjust the track gain. It needs to stay at exactly 0dB. (It's at +6dB in the picture.)

Re: ES-3 gate output not working properly
Possibly the modules in question don't like the full 10V gate from the ES-3. You could turn it down (using the 'Gate Open' control).

Re: ES-3 gate output not working properly
Since you're using Logic, have you either zeroed the envelopes in the output matrix, or made aux tracks for plug-in outputs 3-6?

Are those plug-ins on the same track or different tracks? (They need to be on the same track.)

Yes, the Voice Controller is what you want. You have to run the calibration though or you'll get no pitch.

Re: Disting Ex samples velocity split from sf2 file
The sf2_to_dex.py script makes no attempt to do anything with velocity layers. You'll have to change the filenames yourself to introduce the velocity split naming convention. This is documented in the disting EX user manual.

Yes, sorry, I read your post too quickly. I didn't get that you wanted to do clock and CV/MIDI at the same time. G6 Clock just does clock.
FWIW the FH-2 will do that.

With the Gates section "1 Chan" set to 1 and "1 Base" set to 48, the gate outputs are MIDI notes 48-55. So for gates 3-8 you want MIDI notes 50-55.

Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX
Presets work like on any other synth - there's a flat list of them in memory, and you save your 'sound' to one of the slots. You can however also save the presets as files on the SD card, and then move them (on a computer, not on the disting itself) into a folder. For example, the card shipped with ...

Re: ES9 Reaktor routing (new user sorry!)
The output devices in the Reaktor plug-in are numbered according to the plug-in outputs. Typically you will use 1 & 2 for a stereo plug-in.
Then the Live track routing tells it which hardware output to send those signals to.

Re: ES-9: No input in Reaktor as plugin in Live
The outputs in Reaktor are the plug-in outputs, not the ES-9 outputs. Whatever you want to come out of the plug-in, route it to 1/2 inside the plug-in.

Re: ES-9: No input in Reaktor as plugin in Live
Don't start messing with the internal routing of the ES-9. You generally don't need to if you're using it with a DAW.
The Reaktor output will come out of the plug-in's outputs. That will come out of your Live track, so route the track to wherever you want it to go.
