Re: FH1 and FHX-8CV

We have a winner - got the outputs lighting up to show communication with my linnstrument.

One last question- was I wrong to assume they should come on blue like on the fh1 with nothing outputting? I have no colour to red whereas on the fh1 I have blue to red.

Re: FH1 and FHX-8CV

Ordered/tested a new connector cable - still the same: red flash on expander about ten seconds after power on/six after boot complete on fh1. From reading around it seems the fh1 isn't finding the expander. Would this be a fault on the fh1 or on the expander? Both were bought used so not sure where ...

FH1 and FHX-8CV

Noob alert - go easy on me... How can I tell if my FH1 and FHX-8CV are talking to each other correctly? Whats the easiest way? On power up I have the FH1 booting correctly, with the LED's indicating a response from the sensel morph plugged into it. The FHX does nothing - about 6 seconds after power ...

Re: No love for the Axoloti DSP Board?

In fairness there is very little trivial about setting up the axoloti core which has been around for ages now. Pleased to see these are making it out now - I'll be getting one once there are more out there. Axoloti makes for a great mpe synth so the extra power should come in handy.

Re: Buchla Thunder in 2020

Great stuff - perhaps it's time for me to buy that usb midi host to tether morph thunder to xpander. I've been very pleased with the sensel version, though so far it's being used as an MPE controller.

Re: creating kickdrum samples: Headphone vs. speakers ?

I once lost a kick in a stereo mix after going from headphones to speakers - turns out there was a phase issue I wasn't able to pick up when listening on headphones. Wonder if that is what you've experienced here?

tIB - Floating - AE Mod, Morph & Axoloti noisescapes

Minimal noisey soundscaping the Axoloti core (controlled by the wonderful sensel morph thunder overlay) through a small Tangible Waves AE Modular system. I can never show the tracklisting in these links but it's an 11 track album... http://therapyinterferingbehaviour.bandcamp.com/album/floating">Flo...

Re: Good stereo mastering recorder on SD or other portable format

The Korg MR1 is great still and can be found cheap - at once point I read of a few mastering engineers using the big brother mr1000. You'll also find people using the tascam da3000 in that capacity - it's fantastic in 5.6mhz but is over the budget. I haven't heard of anyone using the smaller tascam ...

Re: ASM Hydrasynth as MPE controller

sure it is, it just doesn't implement every feature of the protocol. Because most keyboards don't implement PolyAT, do that make them not MIDI? Given MPE spec is related to the independent control of three parameters (over independent channels) of which one is pitch (and related bend) I'm going to ...

Re: Headphones 2019 ugh “monitor quality” LOL

I don't agree - they isolate well but we're too hyped in the low end and muddy for my tastes. Much happier with the Phonon smb-02. You're trading one hype for another... Perhaps, though my perception of the Phonon is that they are flat across the range (apparently Yaxi pads soften those peaks thoug...

Re: ASM Hydrasynth as MPE controller

Sorry, but you are confusing mpe with poly aftertouch. Hydrasynth is not an mpe controller. The HS does support MPE, though it is more limited than something like a Roli since it provides no independent way to pitchbend individual notes. But for what it does, it works fine with MPE. It's an MPE sou...

2020 Leeds meet online event - 23/08

Apologies I this is already posted/promoted here but I've not seen it... There's an online modular meet tomorrow (23/08) replacing the annual Leeds meet. I've got a few bits submitted on various systems, and I'm in good company- Music from Bit Loader, Bluewolfse7en, Radek Rudnicki, tIB, Vile Electro...
