Re: Next module (256e or 257e?)
Win win i think - I can easily use four channels of my 256 but if I had the 257 I'm sure I'd make use of the slew too.

Re: Buchla, Bug and Serge noise drone things
Ha, funny you should say that as I was going to call it something along the line of into the forest - the cover shot is the edge of a Sri Lankan jungle, which is where it took me back to. I'm always glad other people get something from stuff like this - thanks for the support and I hope you enjoy. :...

Re: 288r TIME DOMAIN PROCESSOR - PREORDER
So the write mode acts like a normal delay but recirc loops what is in the buffer at one of three cycle lengths, selected by the short/full three way switch. The time and pitch switch in theory toggles between a longer delay like setting and a much faster delay that you would think could be used as...

Re: 288r TIME DOMAIN PROCESSOR - PREORDER
Thanks for the explanations tIB....seems like a very interesting module...only thing I wonder is how flexible the loop length setting is considering it goes up to 40 seconds of looping and there are only 3 positions to choose. No probs. I've never thought of it as a looper as such, and on mine the ...

Re: Behringer VCS3
Has anyone else noticed how the scale of the BVCS3 looks off compared to an actual EMS VCS3? It's difficult to gauge the size of it without any reference points but either those knobs are really big or the cabinet is pretty small... compared to an original. VCS3x2.jpg Assume it will be smaller like...

Re: 288r TIME DOMAIN PROCESSOR - PREORDER
I'm assuming given the 24/96 sound quality and vintage mode line in the OP it will be clean. I love the 288v though, so that will be staying for those tough to shift stains.Minimoog56 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 7:38 pmYes Roman is she going to sound like a washing machine or closer to a multi-tap like the 277r?

Re: Do high end mixers matter?
I've been looking for an 8 buss 32ch in a lower price range and dang! all the AH and SC board are 4 buss max. I've experimented with 8 buss recording instead of all direct out takes lately and came to good results. The only thing I found was the Tridents...but these are quite a step up finacially. ...

Buchla, Bug and Serge noise drone things
Bugbrand, Buchla and Serge modular systems chirping away on top of one another in a half-hour nine section noise drone type thing. There's not a lot to hang on here other than texture, so I guess it fits here more than most stuff I do? Oh, there's a machinedrum UW and Gotharman Deformer in there som...

Re: Behringer VCS3
They need a vintage looking Behringer logo to complement these synths, similar to how with Tannoy they have gone back to their old logo. If they just removed the shitty triangle ear thing it would be a start. I like what Heinakroon did to the logo on one of his overlays for the Neutron, but simply ...

Aside from the CSR actually doing what the 210e should have all along there are other add-ons. Shift clicking cells, randomization, etc.

Re: Buchla Easel Command Module 208C
^ as I eagerly await my new Easel Command this is heartening advice. My plan is to start using the unit totally alone for a while...then I'll probably try hooking up my Beatstep Pro. In fact if that plays nicely I'm quite interested in the USB Host port option for the Command to streamline that set...

It's great to see more options coming for this module - I have the older 288v and I'd love to add a more modern version alongside it one day.

Re: Thomann prices to the UK no longer include VAT
This could also potentially destroy a universal credit claim, should anyone find themselves in a sudden position of needing to claim welfare! Absolutely no reason why it should - unless you were hiding income from HMRC in which case you're on shaky ground anyway! You'd also need to insure your gear...

Re: Thomann prices to the UK no longer include VAT
Tip - register yourself as self-employed for your music-making and then go for voluntary VAT registration. You'll incur a small amount of administrative hassle but will pay no VAT on your music purchases ever again. 😁 is it that easy in the UK? in ireland you need to have a minimum of vat charged o...
