Re: Tull - Passion Play synth(s) ?

It also has a 5.1 surround mix. I might have to buy that one!

Hi,

The version I was listening to was the Steven Wilson, which has the original recording.

Re: Tull - Passion Play synth(s) ?

As the youtube mix of the Passion Play album is playing, I just heard this synth patch with a fair amount of dynamic modulation (I hope the link works to the specific time in the video):

I'm thinking this would be more of a VCS3 type of sound

Re: Tull - Passion Play synth(s) ?

Wow, first I have to say is thank you for mentioning this album! For some reason, I've never listened to it, even though I love this era Tull. I'm listening now to a mix of Passion Play that's on youtube. Good stuff! My opinion on the synth is - it doesn't sound like a Moog synth to me. In the song,...

Re: MOTM - Module Delineation (lines?) & Output Marking (nuts/washers?)

The only solution that worked for me ( a little, anyway), was to print labels with the module name and put them top center on double wide modules. The single wide modules usually had graphics for the top most knob there, so I put those stickers right below and to the right of the top most knob. Not ...

Re: 5u nasty filters?

In my rig, my favorite filters for nasty grunge are:

1. Ian Fritz - Threeler
2. CGS - CGS35 Steiner
3. MOTM - 420 (MS20 clone)

Nice video! It was great to see Nyle interviewed and also seeing his instruments and performing skills.

It was also very nice to see David Ingebretson interviewed.

I sometimes have noticeable noise when recording my modular. I tracked it down to a spring reverb module in my system. Everything else is dead quiet.

Also a possibility is your gain staging throughout your patches.

Envelope pronounciation?

I'm curious how many pronounce it each way.

Is this an American vs European thing?

Since you're wanting sonic variation in a live setting, I think a conventional synth with presets, arpeggiators, sequencer, and a good dose of knobs and controllers would suit you. If you're digging the modular, maybe keep it in your rig for some sounds, but I'm think having a synth with presets wou...

I can't quantify the differences since I've used very few soft synths, but I can say that more than one time I've just sat back and stared at my modular admiring how beautiful it is. From an aural perspective...I've also just sat there listening to a self playing patch admiring how rich and incredib...

Pearlman was a pioneer in designing operational amplifiers, back in the day when they were implemented with vacuum tubes. He worked for a company called ...

I have many bad slide pots in my 2800. How is the quality of the sliders you bought from him? Do you know who the manufacturer is?

On the subject of Odyssey PCBs, it'd be really nice if there was an adapter board that would accept LED slide pots. :sb:
