Northern Light Modular - Dual CV Polymorpher Model 2OC

Post by Synesthesia » Tue May 30, 2017 3:21 pm

Hi!

We have received our panel - and are now ready to build and ship :)

Price for a a fully finished and calibrated unit is 750 euros with a part of the profit going to Mxmxmx - plus shipping fee. We are looking at sending the modules fully insured.

we have stock of pcb, parts and panels - so we can build to order.

The module is compatible with Buchla Voltages and Power (EDAC connector ) .

Thanks again to Patrick Dowling, mxmxmx, and Tim Churches for this awesome module.

More Info on Ornement-and-crime here: http://ornament-and-cri.me/
The 2OC support has just added to the master O&C firmware code. This means that bug fixes and enhancements for the eurorack O&C firmware will be immediately available for the Buchla 4U version as well.

We don't have an online shop yet, but we have a paypal setup already - send me your location in MP, and I will check the shipping options.

Marc :)

I would definitely be interested in a set if you have any extras or do another order :tu:

Come on guys... a demo and and some explanation about features could help.

A lot of new buchla third party projects around there, demos help to decide.

There's full docs on O+C here.... should be some pretty extensive threads in the general modular or euro forum too:

Hi all,

all modules from the first run have been spoken for.

We had 10 units, and sold 10 - most of them are now built, and the first batch is shipping out today or tomorrow.

Sascha and Mxmxmx worked hard over the last few days and perfected the firmware.

If ever you want a module from the next run, let me know, and i'll add you to the waiting list.

Are you going to offer extra panels and PCBs to people interested in DIY?
If not, will you post the Eagel schematic and board files so people can order their own PCBs?

Hey Drillionaire,

We probably will offer some PCB and panels set - preferably through Modular Addict ( John is the man! ) but not for a while.

At the moment, we are getting our pcb and panels in little batches, and don't have many to spare. Those ain't cheap ;)

As for the files - there is no real plans to release our eagle files. We posted the schematics, which incl. all the needed modifications we did, so there is no secret there - feel free to make your own pcb.

Marc

We could release the Gerber files, but they will need some adaptation... ( as it is, the marking on the board is for us... with serial number etc) - we will speak to Max for guidance.

Also interesting for existing customers, we updated the FW to 1.3.2
If you got one of the first batch, update to 1.3.2 for
a fix for 4xLFO phase spread behaviour
adds: cross-channel amplitude modulation, misc. CV destinations (via CV4), frequency multiplication/division (via TR4) [all in 4xLFO]

and here is how to :

step 1): install the Teensy Loader program
the Teensy Loader is available at https://www.pjrc.com/teensy/loader.html

step 2): download the binary HEX file
download the latest released version of the 2OC firmware image file (.hex) from

step 3): open the HEX file in the Teensy Loader
open the HEX file in the Teensy Loader application
make sure a USB cable is connected to one of the Teensies , and that the 2OC module is powered up
click the green Auto Program icon, or choose Program from the Operation menu in Teensy Loader
press the program push switch on the Teensy board
(you should briefly see a progress bar as the firmware is uploaded)
click the reboot icon or choose Operation > Reboot
your 2OC should now run the updated firmware (resp. come to life, if newly built)
It will say "2OC 1.3.2" in the start screen indicating that the upgrade worked fine
